Cookies and local storage
Draft last updated
Draft: not yet in force. This page is a draft and not yet in force. It describes how the KYCVerify service at kycverify.me processes data; the bracketed fields are still to be completed and reviewed with counsel. Questions: hello@kycverify.me.
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and loads no third-party trackers. KYCVerify stores only what is listed below, all of it necessary for a feature you use. If we ever add analytics or other tools, they will be listed here first and asked for consent where the law requires it.
What is stored
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
kyc_console | Cookie (HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax; Secure over HTTPS) | Keeps a signed-in console user signed in | 7 days, or until sign-out |
kyc.theme | Local storage | Remembers your light or dark theme choice | Until you clear it |
kyc.console.app | Local storage | Remembers which app a console user last selected | Until you clear it |
kyc.console.sidebar | Local storage | Remembers whether the console sidebar is collapsed | Until you clear it |
kyc.flow.here.<id> | Session storage | Remembers, in one tab, that you chose to continue a verification on this device | Until the tab closes |
The verification flow
The hosted verification flow sets no cookies. The verification link itself identifies the session, so do not share it. Camera access is requested by your browser only when a step needs it, and you can revoke it in your browser settings.
Managing them
You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser's settings. Deleting kyc_console signs you out; deleting kyc.theme returns the site to your system theme. Because everything listed is strictly necessary or a preference you set, there is no consent banner.
Changes
If what is stored changes, this page is updated with the date above.
